Healthy snacks are a vital part of healthy living and giving the body extra boosts of energy between meals, as well as keeping the metabolism running well. Unhealthy snacks can cause weight gain and sluggish metabolisms in those who eat them habitually.
Your metabolism is the set of chemical reactions and exchanges of energy going on in your body to keep you alive. A person’s metabolism runs more or less efficiently depending on the foods they eat and the activities they do, amongst many other things. Foods are like fuels for the body. Like cars, bodies run better on some fuels than others.
Some obvious examples of foods that cause tiredness are those high in carbohydrates, high processed sugar and high fat diet. These foods taste great to a body used to the habit of running on them, and in fact the body fed on them craves them in the end to stave off the tiredness eating them creates. The tiredness comes from excessive sugar swings. Highly processed sugars and refined carbs (like white flour based foods) are processed fast by the body, caused a temporary swing of high energy, and then there is a rapid dip in energy. Choosing Low Cholesterol Food for a Healthy Life

For those who are told their cholesterol is too high and they need to reduce it the first step that they will need to take is making dietary changes. There is nothing difficult about doing this, it is just a matter of having the mindset that a change needs to be made to improve ones health and this will start with a diet consisting of low cholesterol foods.
Although you will lose weight on this type of diet it is not like other weight loss diets. The foods you eat and how they are prepared will determine how well you do on it, weight loss will simply be a healthy side benefit. Without a cholesterol reducing diet the chances of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart attack, and stroke increase when everyday levels remain high in the blood stream.
While there are many cholesterol lowering diets in books and on the internet they all work off the same basic principle; cut the foods that are high in cholesterol, saturated fates, and trans fats.
